So… I was bored these last few days and thought about going to check out a lot of websites I haven’t been to in awhile. It brought me to the ugly realization that all the people I use to ‘mingle’ with on the internet are pretty much gone or off doing something completely different. I guess I shouldn’t be too shocked. It has been years and I left that world myself to work more on cosplay and photography.
It is sad though.
I miss a lot of my internet buddies, even on LiveJounal it has been kind of dead. I suppose I should go and be more active with communities that look alive and just start over but… yeah I don’t know if I’m that dedicated anymore.
The one that shocked me the most of the waller community. Most of the people I admired or chatted with are gone. They haven’t updated since 2011 or longer. Then I got even more shocked to see that Animepaper.net is closing down. At least Minitokyo is still there but I wonder how active it actually is besides lurkers. (uh… I happen to be one of those lurkers lately).
I was tempted to try walling again. It’s been a long time since I wanted to do any graphics because making websites was my actual profession. Coming home to do it just didn’t seem like fun. My work is still with computers but not so much with web design anymore so I’m feeling the itch. Thing is, I’m not sure if I should waste my time if the community for it is dead. I wouldn’t be super active, a wall every month or so… I want to be able to open Panikku.com again but there are no ideas!
Anyway, all this just made me reminisce about my days when I was always on the internet making graphics, posting up journal entries, visiting friends journals and chatting away on msn and aim. OMG I sound so damn old!!! lol
I don’t even feel like a good blogger anymore since my posts all seem to be boring. I don’t post lots of pretty pictures of food, makeup, clothes and so on so forth. I need to get with it! Ashley you old lady! Stop being so boring and get more active online again!
Of course, cosplay and photography are still going to be my main priority. DeviantArt is the one community I’m always visiting – especially since I’m an admin to three groups. Got to keep checking to approve submissions!
It’s time to try and come up with some other things to do online besides cosplay though. Wish me luck!
P.S. I’m thinking about opening up hosting again since i haven’t been putting my space to good use lately.
P.S.S. If you want to see me and my sister dance horribly to PonPonPon dressed as Ranka and Sheryl from Macross Frontier – check out the youtube killswithcake page.
