A New Look!

So, I had my last template for many many many years and thought it was time for a change. I wanted to go with something very simple. Funny thing, even though the template looks simple it was a complete bitch to install. I had to do a lot of updating to my website, including updating the PHP.

Anyway, the image on the left side might change but for now I chose to use the preview close up of my Anonymous Noise cosplay of Alice. I hope you like the new simplicity of this site. I really just wanted to feature the blog and not have a lot of distractions on the sides. I might tweek things here and there as time goes on.

So, first of all – my tests! If you read my last entry you know that I was getting many tests done, blood work and so forth, so that they could completely diagnose me with Fibromyalgia – which is a diagnosis of exclusion. They wanted to be sure it wasn’t something else. Now, I know there are probably way more tests out there but it is good to be getting a good chunk of them done.

All the EMG tests came back normal. Let me tell you, those tests are not fun. I thought the needle one would be painful but it turns out the electric shock one is the worst. The needle one just made me bleed a bit but didn’t hurt to do. However, in the middle of testing the nerve on my right leg’s calf it cramped up really bad. It didn’t seem to matter for the test but at least the doctor got to see what I’m talking about. It is a little hard to fake a cramp, haha.

All my blood work came back normal except…

-now this was the shocker for me-

My ANA was positive. Now, this positive was just in the 1:80 tier, so not that high but I’m still surprised. I had that test done like a year or so ago and it was negative. I don’t think this is anything to worry about yet but it might be a good idea to keep an eye on this and test it again in the future. A positive ANA can mean having an autoimmune disease. The only reason I’m not worried at the moment is because my SED rate was normal this time and even when the SED rate goes up it is only a little bit like my CRP. My CRP is always slightly high so I’m just marked as chronically inflamed, haha.

I’ve been tested in the past for things like Sjogren’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis and those have been negative.

The other bloods tests were for things like Lyme Disease, M-Protein, Diabetes, Heavy Metals, Folate, and Vitamin checks.

The only test I have left is the MRI of my head. I’m pretty sure nothing will show up on that.

Oh, but my PCP did one last check of my TSH before he left and saw that it was climbing so he decided to have me alternate my thyroid medication 75mg one day 50mg the next. I think it is helping because I’m finally getting energy again. The fatigue was just nuts! I hope this is the fix and not just a good spell.

So, if the last test is normal and the doctor doesn’t seem concerned about the positive ANA then I’m going to start thinking about trying to get off more of my medications. I’m getting suspicious of them such as the PPI and possibly the Beta-Blocker. I will discuss this with a doctor first though, of course.

Now for something fun-

I finally have a new series to get all fangirl over…

Banana Fish – I was wanting to watch this one so bad and got mad that Amazon Prime licensed it because I never renewed my account. Luckily they offer just Amazon Video for 8.99 a month. I binged the first 4 episodes really fast and I can’t wait to see more. I may have to pick up the manga once it is over. The name is silly but it is set in New York and it has to do with gangs and stuff and broship. XD This is the summary from the manga. “Nature made Ash Lynx beautiful; nurture made him a cold ruthless killer. A runaway brought up as the adopted heir and sex toy of “Papa” Dino Golzine, Ash, now at the rebellious age of seventeen, forsakes the kingdom held out by the devil who raised him. But the hideous secret that drove Ash’s older brother mad in Vietnam has suddenly fallen into Papa’s insatiably ambitious hands–and it’s exactly the wrong time for Eiji Okamura, a pure-hearted young photographer from Japan, to make Ash Lynx’s acquaintance…”

Image from the anime and one from the manga – the manga one is what makes me want to read it too.

  1. It’s great that you’ve made some changes to the blog. I’m happy to hear that the results came back with the EMG being normal. Even though your ANA was positive, it is essential that it is detected now rather than later so you can have the proper treatment. Sending you lots of love!

    1. Yeah, it is great to know I had no obvious nerve damage in those areas. XD Thank you ♥

  2. I’m really loving this new look! Well done on you for switching and doing something a bit different and new! 🙂 I love the photo on the left, it’s very mysterious and pretty. 🙂

I’m glad that you got most of your tests done now! I’m glad that you received better results. All the best!! <3

    1. Thankies! I can’t wait to do the full photo shoot of that costume. ♥

  3. That’s a LOT of tests! 😮 I personally do not enjoy having tests conducted on me, but I know it’s better to have these tests to figure out exactly what’s wrong. Better safe than sorry!

I actually like this new look! And I agree, the focus on the content makes it look so much better! 🙂

    1. Haha, no kidding! True, I’m just wanting to be sure I don’t have something that could be treated before they tell me it is fibro. Thankies ♥

  4. It’s great that most of your tests have been done now. They definitely don’t sound nice, so at least they’re almost over and done with. Hope it helps you!

  5. The updates to your blog look awesome. It’s annoying that it caused some problems trying to install it but worth it. Your profile picture is amazing! 😀 Ahhh. How awful that the tests were painful, at least they are out of the way and you know a lot more now and can hopefully lead to being on the right medication. 🙂

    1. LOL yeah I couldn’t believe how much I fought with this new look. ARG Yes, I certainly hope so, thanks ♥
