Cosplay and plans!

After many many many months of no new cosplays due to illness and surgery – I finally got two new photo shoots done and I’m getting the energy to make some new ones! I’m so excited. The only down fall to all of this is – soon my photographer is going to be moving over 3 hours away from me. Sniff. It will be hard to do shoots even if I finish them. ORZ Oh well, I’m sure she will be happy where she is going. I wish I could leave this town.

So the new costumes I did was Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I had most of this already because my sister cosplayed her but since my sister no longer does cosplay I thought I would just get the dress in my size and do it myself. I think the photos turned out well considering how rusty I was at posing. LOL

Here are a few of the pictures, you can see more at WorldCosplay.

The next costume was the long awaited Yuuki Kuran in the day class uniform. I have had this one for over a year and just never did it. Thank you very much health issues. The Artemis Rod is what really made this costume though. That thing was such a pain, I’m sure putting it together nearly made my hands bleed.

Besides taking pictures of finished products I have been working on a few new cosplays.

One is for a dream cosplay of mine. It is Akane Aikawa from Mahou Tsukai Tai – an old 90s anime that brings back memories for me. So far I’m just working on the cape part of the outfit. It’s going to be a slow process due to my lack of time to get anything done.

Excuse the choppy lines. I will be cleaning those up before sewing it.

The next one is actually a VERY easy costume. It is Alexandria Garcia from Kuroko no Basket. I have most of the outfit done, just need to style a wig and get a green jacket and sew on some fur trim to the hood. Oh, and I will need a basketball, heh. Here is my progress…

Anyway, that is it for now. I will be working on another makeup post for the next entry. β™₯

  1. Oooh! Your cosplays are looking great. I really like how the Katsuragi Misato one turned out πŸ™‚ What a vivid cosplay

The last one is definitely an easy one XD That’s the kind of cosplay I’d go for because I can’t sew and do all that. XD

Glad you’ve been feeling better to get back into cosplaying again :3

      Thank you very much! πŸ™‚
LOL yeah the last one is just on a whim for me, to have something to cosplay in between all the bigger projects. πŸ™‚

    • ongaku ongaku

Thankies! Awesome, can’t wait to see them. πŸ™‚

  2. I love your cosplays!

I’m still a little new to the anime scene but I’ll have to get into some of those animes

    • ongaku ongaku

Thank you! Yes, for sure. Anime is fun though I wouldn’t recommend NGE as one to start with, haha.

  3. Amy Amy

Your cosplays are so amazing! I wish I was as talented at making costumes.

I love cosplaying, but mine tend to be bought costumes, or quite badly made. I wish I’d paid attention in sewing class at school. I can’t even thread a sewing machine! Glad you’ve been feeling better!

Thank you! LOL I’m not good at sewing either. A lot of my costumes are store bought, only some are made from scratch and others are altered from other – already made – clothes. I get a lot of help from my mother, lol. I wish I could take a sewing class to learn more basics and terminology.

Nice cosplays! It’s cool how you share your process through two cosplays you’re currently working on, rather than just showing finished ones. Hope you can find a new photographer and continue doing photoshoots. Looks like you’re really good at cosplaying! It takes a lot of time and dedication to make costumes, something I only briefly dabbled in for going to a convention twice, and once for a Halloween costume.

By the way, in case you were wondering, I wandered to your blog via Pauline’s blog, which I found through Liv’s aka Olivia’s blog. Hadn’t been keeping up with the blogging community for a while, but starting it again.

Thanks, though I’m not all that good. πŸ™‚ I buy a lot of things. Wish I had more time to dedicate into sewing more of my own stuff. Welcome back to the blogging world, I will be sure to stop by your blog. πŸ™‚

  5. Cat Cat

You look good as Misato! I also like the photo on the right of you as Yuuki. It’s cute πŸ˜€

I’m doing an easy costume right now too. Sometimes it’s nice to wear something simple and comfortable, haha. Good luck on your Akane Aikawa costume!

Thank you! πŸ™‚ I missed doing cosplay.
Yes, exactly! Especially when you go to a con. I like to find one costume that is simple and comfortable for walking around in, hehe.

  6. Your cosplays look AMAZING. I always envy those who can work cosplays so well, you’re definitely one of them πŸ™‚ Good luck with the next costume! I’ve not heard of that anime before but it does look very 90’s πŸ˜› I hope you continue cosplaying and sharing them, you’re awfully talented at it!

    • ongaku ongaku

Aw, thank you very much. πŸ™‚ I will do my best!

  7. Wow. All of your cosplays are absolutely gorgeous! I hope that you’re able to get more done, as I look forward to seeing them. I also hope that you’re able to find a new photographer – I can just imagine how difficult it is to find someone who shares your vision for each look. I also hope that your health continues to improve.

    • ongaku ongaku

Thank you very much! Yeah, it will be hard for as long as I stay in this town. Maybe I can move to a bigger city soon.

  8. I love Vampire Knight!! You did an amazing job on all the cosplays!! Awesome job on the Artemis Rod, you really put alot of attention to details. Can’t wait to see what you make next!

    • ongaku ongaku

Thank you πŸ™‚ I didn’t make that part of the Rod, heh I just had to put the pieces together and it was painful! lol Someday I will do it all from scratch. Prop making can be fun. More so than sewing.
