Events Health Holiday Other Photography Work

Dear Santa…

December 11, 2017

It seems I’m making a habit of having a post once a month. Ug. I’m a terrible blogger. I would like to think I could post more like I use to but when you have body aches, joint pain, and fatigue all the time it makes it hard to want to come and sit at my computer after work and make a blog entry. I see the Rheumatologist the day after Christmas and I’m nervous as all hell. Mostly because I just have this gut feeling he will not help me and I will be stuck like this, no one believing my pain. I mean, my PCP usually does but he isn’t being much of a doctor anymore with all his new admin responsibilities. There is also only so much he knows about this kind of issue. I guess if I get desperate I can have him refer me to a doctor out of town. Maybe I should just think positive and hope that he tries to help me and not just brush me off. Sigh.

Anyway, enough of the depressing stuff!

First of all, at work, we had another mmodal trainer come in. It was really kind of pointless. I think it would have been better if they had just told me how to do the extra stuff. Still, she was fun to hang with and she invited me to a paint and sip. My very first one! I always wanted to try one but never had anyone to go with. My painting looks like crap but it was fun.

Second, my boss turned 50 on wed the 29th of November. He isn’t open about this stuff, but I have befriended his wife – mwhahaha. She told me so I just had to decorate his office. I had balloons, streamers, banners, signs, and jokes all over it. He got a good laugh out of it. It didn’t cost me much at all do to either since I made a lot of it with my printer and markers. I forgot to take a picture of the container of suckers that says 50 sucks, but yeah, there was one. I was glad for my Photoshop knowledge. I was also glad for my co-worker and friend, Isaac, for being around and helping me blow up all the balloons. I would have died doing it! I just did one and it sucked! He almost passed out doing it. lol My favorite sign was the one that said ‘Look who is all grown up and ready for a Colonoscopy!” Hahaha

I’ve been working really hard to clean out my paraphernalia room. I use to put anything that didn’t go anywhere else into this room but I got tired of the way it looked and I wanted it to be more inviting for guests. I got rid of one of the bookshelves and I plan to donate a lot of my manga to the library. It is a hard decision but I tend to buy any of my books now on my kindle or just online reading such as webtoons.com. The ones I plan to give to the library are stories that won’t ever be finished because tokyopop went under or because the author stopped, like Nana and Gakuen Alice.

I put my sewing machine in a closet because, let’s face it, I’m not doing a lot of sewing feeling like this. However, it will not be hard to get it out and put it on the table in the dining room to do any sewing later. I put away my printer because I fucking hate printers. DX I have one for when I cave and have to print something but meh, I keep it unplugged and in the closet now. Ever since I did that we can actually use the other door in the room that leads to the bathroom. LOL Stupid printers! I also took out the elliptical machine because… yeah forget cardio for now. I have it on the back porch and I plan to cover it to protect it from the elements. If I ever want to exercise my duplex village now has an exercise room so no need for a gym membership.

I bought a mattress for the room so now all I got to get is a box spring to put under it. I want the bed to be pretty low to the floor. I will take pictures once the room is the way I want it to be. I’ve already got plenty of sheets and blankets for it but I hope to (over time) get cute pillows to decorate on it. I say over time because I don’t have the money for be buying 10-20 dollar pillows in big amounts, lol. The mattress was pretty cool because it came in a box. It was very satisfying see it blow up into a regular mattress and it feel pretty comfy. Way better than an air mattress. That is a big junk of my Christmas present to my sister and her husband.

On the Christmas note, I’m not sure if I’m going to get around to making a Christmas video this year. If I do, it will be short like my very first one. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! ♥

P.S. I plan to do another blog entry filled with picture of my place since I’ve made so many changes. I might also make a little video walk-through. It will probably happen after all the Holidays so it can be in it’s usually state. I’m mostly writing this here so remind myself since I tend to be very forgetful lately. ha

I love what you did to your boss’s office! I’m one of those that also likes to play jokes on my boss. When we were still working together, my coworker and I pitched in to get him a Starbucks gift card, bottle of Jack Daniels, and a placard that said “World’s Okayest Boss.” He had a laugh out of it and obviously loved the whisky!

I hope you get someone to listen about your pains soon. I get frustrated with doctors, too. They seem to think that people aren’t actually in pain and just go on prescribing medications. I had a lot of frustrations with that a year or two ago when I was struggling with acne and my dermatologist just kept pushing medication that he was receiving money to sponsor. It wasn’t until I consulted Planned Parenthood that I actually got it all sorted out with birth control, but that took almost 2 years of bouncing between doctors and dermatologists! So frustrating.

LOL That is an awesome bunch of gifts. XD
Wow, that really does suck! It is crazy how they are bought off by damn drug reps.

That was so sweet what you did for your boss! It’s okay that you don’t blog much because whenever you do, it makes the posts more than just special for us to read and comment on. I’m dealing with eczema problems and even TMJ, when it is revealed I have to get braces and that I might have to be on more medication for my skin condition. :/ Medical problems just suck.

I luckily, got only frustrated with one doctor and it was previous psychiatrist, but now, I have a much much better one.

Yes, they really do and omg TMJ is awful! I hated not being able to open my mouth much.
I’m glad you found a better one. ♥

I’ve seen teams do outings at those paint and sip type things, and they look fun! I think your painting looks good! I also think it’s funny that your boss’s wife asked you to decorate his office, haha. That looks like it was fun to do, and I’m glad your boss got a kick out of it!

I’m trying to move my sewing room, which means a lot of cleaning up too. I donated some of my manga to our library as well, and even though it was around 20 volumes, I feel like I should still get rid of more. Sounds like you’ve done a lot to the room already though! I’d be interested in how it looks when you’re done and the rest of your place too!

Yeah, it was a new experience for me.
I feel ya on more. It was hard for the ones I already donated but I really need to think about more room and downsize so I can save some monies by getting a smaller place. I certainly will do that as soon as possible XD

You’re not a terrible blogger! Things happen out of your control, and your first priority should always be you! So don’t put yourself down like that.

Your painting looks really nice! I think you did a fantastic job 😀 And you did great with the decorating :3 50th birthday is a special milestone, for sure!

    You have a great holiday!

      Thanks ♥ You too!

Your painting’s so cute! My sister’s been getting into painting, and surprisingly, she’s pretty good. I’ve always just ended up with blobs everywhere… Mystery! LOL.
Your decluttering? Home-making? Seems to be going really well. I wish I had extra room and space, but alas, I gotta work with what I have. I’ve been trying to think of how I can make it more of a “home” and less of a “place I sleep in” for a while now. I hope I’ll make more headway next year.
All the decoration for your boss is awesome. Lol. We’re kind of like that too, being jokey with everything. I can’t wait for someone to hit a milestone so we can do something crazy with their desk. Hahaha.

I love your painting! _< You probably still blog more than me. I just am not as motivated as I used to be, but other than that I don't have much of an excuse. Sure there's a lot going on in life, but I always have time if I make time.

Your Candy Cane Lane song is so good, I just shared it with a friend. Got to watch a few of the other Sia videos as a result as well. Thanks for sharing!

Haha, thanks. It was a fun experience. Yeah, life just gets in the way.

Sorry. I just realized some characters were escaped. Redoing this comment. You may delete the previous one.

I love your painting! It looks like a classic impressionistic painting. Do wish the image was larger though. 🙂 I love how colorful and full of life it is.

Looks like you had lots of fun decorating your coworker’s place. 50 suckers is so clever!

I also hate printers, though I found that switching to a laser printer from an inkjet printer was an improvement. Whenever I had an inkjet, if I didn’t use it after a month or so, the ink would dry and damage the print head somehow, and render the entire all-in-one printer useless. That’s why I chose printers as my senior thesis. This slide sums up printer problems: http://suefeng.com/portfolio/modislide/#img7

Laser printers are a lot better but man the prices of the ink, haha.
