So let me start off by saying I have lost 4 1/2 pounds already! 🤩😃👍 It has not been easy though. The first week and a half I thought I was never going to make it. I felt so hungry and I would end up eating more than needed by the evening. I thought to myself, I need to get something to help me with this hunger. So, I went out to GNC and bought a meal substitute shake. I bought their LEAN Shake in the flavor banana and mixed it with almond milk to replace my breakfast. This was a huge help. While it did not make me feel less hungry by lunchtime, it was keeping me full more than I thought because by lunchtime I could only eat half of what I use too.
After a while, I was able to just get by on smaller portions of breakfast food and get my energy back up so I could exercise. I would eat a decent lunch, full of protein and then have 30 minutes left for my lunch hour so I would go for a mile walk.
When I got home I would eat a yummy dinner and have a snack later on, but in between dinner and the snack, I would do whatever workout my fibro-broken body would allow that day. Sometimes it was 10-15 minutes on the elliptical, sometimes it was just an 8 minutes workout that I have on my phone. However, I have now managed to do 30 minutes on the elliptical or maybe 15-20 minutes and my 8-minute workout. Still, pacing myself is very important to me than losing a lot of weight fast. I do not want to hurt myself. There are days when I don’t do more than a light walk because of the body aches and pains or maybe just nothing but stretches.
This week the body aches and pains have been pretty bad so I’m probably not losing weight, but at least I’m not gaining. My goal is 20 lbs total and I know I can do it with 1lb a week for the most part.
I didn’t follow it much on my vacation, but I didn’t ruin it at least. I’m fighting a bad flare at the moment but I’m trying not to let it get me down. I might actually start doing low carb.
My vacation was really nice. 👍😄I mostly just relaxed, watched shows, got some things done on the computer. I took a sewing kit to my car, haha! The passenger car was falling apart at the seams. I did a pathetic job but most people would never notice. I just took a needle and black thread and did what I could. I will probably have to do it again with stronger thread. I also made these things to go over my sun visors because they were falling apart and getting in my eye. My poor car 😰, someday I will get a new one but it (if it is at all possible) won’t be until 2021.
Besides just relaxing I did take a day trip to see the Sonora Caverns. That was a fun time. I had been before but it was so long ago I didn’t remember anything about it. It makes me want to go see some bigger ones in the future though, like in Carlsbad. I took picture with my new cellphone and I think it did a pretty good job. I would have tried to be more creative but our guide was fast moving.
I might post a gallery of the pictures I took because I did take a good amount. It is about time I update my gallery page anyway… besides the cosplay section. I’m being so lazy! 💤
Enough about that, time to talk about my current addiction…
Okay, I have kind of been addicted to it for awhile but never really posted much about them. They are like crack and I’m going to end up broke because of them, haha.
I have the following apps on my phone-
Lezhin – My Secret Brother, Killing Stalking, The Lady and her Butler, Story of Our Lives, An Uncomfortable Truth, Something About Us, Doridosim, The Greatest Wolf of my Life, An Innocent Sin, Forever Mine, What Does the Fox Say, At the End of the Road.
My Secret Brother is probably my favorite series on the app right now. I recommend this one first.
WEBTOON – Let’s Play, unOrdinary, Bastard, I Love Yoo, SubZero, Siren’s Lament, Cheese in the Trap, My Dear Cold-Blooded King, Eggnoid, Sweet Home, Ecstasy Hearts
Everything on WEBTOON is free so you don’t have to worry about spending money. There are many titles to pick from and I’m reading more than this but those are some of my top favorites. Let’s Play, unOrdinary, and I Love Yoo are my current top addictions on the site.
Spottoon – Back to the Highteen, Imitation, Witch’s Workshop, Monster Idols, The Pale Horse
My current top read on this app is Back to the Highteen, it has a bit of a Never Been Kissed feel with an older woman going back to her teens. However, she isn’t some nerdy person who has never been in a relationship. She is getting paid to pretend to be an actual high school girl that she looks very similar too.
Tapas – They Say I was Born a King’s Daughter, Something about 30, Love Deficiency, Crushed!!, Love & Wish, Woman’s Best Friend, Here We Go Again
They Say I was Born a King’s Daughter is a fun read, and the first one I picked up on this app. It is also a novel so the comic is based on the novel.
TappyToon – My Ex, Client, Who Invited You, In Your Dream, I Got a Boy
Honestly, this app is a newer one for me so I can’t really pick a favorite just yet but I will DL as many webcomic apps for new material. 😃
Then last, but not least – A favorite recipe of mine. I didn’t take pictures when I made this because it was over my favorite and my mother was with me so I lost track and forgot to take the pictures. I’m such a failure! Anyway, this is a recipe that came from my 21-Day Tummy Cookbook. I have two of them because I was trying to find more ways to help my gut. Honestly, when I first got these books I was really overwhelemed. I was still a fairly new cook so all the spices and things I hasd never heard of was something to get use too. However, it did not take me long and there are a lot of yummy recipes from these books. I need to stop being lazy (my middle name these days) and try to make some of the other ones.
The thing about these recipes is they are gut friendly so a lot of things with high FODMAPS will not be on it. These dishes will not make you bloat or feel sick, unless you have specific food allergies you need to stay away from. They put in dairy for somethings and some people can’t have dairy. I have no problem with it, thank god.
Spice-Rubbed Chicken with Grape Relish
- 1 1/2 tsps Garam Masala Best to find a brand with no onions or garlic unless that stuff doesn't bother you.
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 3/4 tsps Coarse Salt Try Kosher
- 1/2 Cup Yellow Pepper Finely diced
- 1 Cup Seedless Red Grapes You can cut them in half or in 4ths, up to you.
- 1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
- 2 tsps Pure Maple Syrup Do not use the kind you would pour on your pancakes, it needs to be the pure kind.
- 3 tsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 Pieces Bonless, Skinless Chicken Breasts You want them to be fairly small in size, around 6 oz, otherwise it will take a lot longer to cook.
Preheat the broiler on your oven (which for me is just turn it on X_x) and make sure your rack is about 4 inches from the heat.
Combine the garam masala, turmeric, and salt in a small bowl.
Measure about 3/4 teaspoon of the spice mix and transfer to a slightly bigger bowl. Add the grapes, bell peppers, chives, vinegar, maple syrup, and 1 teaspoon of the oil. Mix nicely.
Rub the rest of your spice mix on your chicken with the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil.
Broil your chicken 3 1/2 minutes per side. Honestly, it usually takes mine longer - which is okay - just be careful not to over cook it. Dry chicken can be the worst. That is why I really need to try harder with the smaller pieces, maybe even flatten my pieces some.
Top each chicken piece with your grape relish. Yum
That is it! Pretty easy wouldn’t you say? It is so yummy too. I love the spices with the slight sweetness of the grape relish. It’s funny because my grandmother is not a big chicken fan, when I made this for her she actually went back for seconds! Woot!
I’m not getting paid for this or anything but if you like this recipe I would recommend getting the cookbook. This is the one that recipe came from, they have two books. 21-day Tummy Cookbook
I will try to do another recipe that is more unique to me and my family – with some pictures next time. Until then, ja ne!
P.S. I’m still working on doing that house tour video and pictures. I promise!
