I’m still in a walking boot but hopefully not for long. After my last entry on this blog I had to send a message to the PA to ask if it was normal for the boot to hurt so much and for the swelling to get worse. They assured me it was but then they told me they were sending me to get a MRI and referring me to the doctor the PA I saw was under. Kind of sounds like maybe it wasn’t so normal… haha. The MRI showed that I had torn a ligament and that I gave myself a bone bruise. I had no idea you could do that but apparently it is one step away from a fracture. That bone bruise is what made the MRI hurt a lot though. I had to keep my foot still for 60 minutes while it was being held straight and the pressure of the things holding it in place was really causing that bone bruise to scream pain. I came out of that MRI in a cold sweat. haha
The doctor wanted me to wear the boot for three more weeks after seeing him. I see him again this coming Monday. He will decide then if I can start Physical Therapy. I hope to be walking normal by the end of August. We shall see! I’m very sick of this limping around thing.
In other news….
I really hate Summer! Haha. I hate bugs sooo much. I ended up with a cricket infestation in my home. I’m glad it wasn’t roaches or something but it was still pretty awful. I would sometimes find them chilling on my bed, which would piss me off so much. At night I would make sure there were none in my room before going to bed, then I would shut the door and put a towel around all the cracks so they couldn’t get in. Last thing I wanted was a damn cricket to jump on my face in my sleep.
I think the worst scare was when I was cleaning up the guest room because one of the crickets decided to die and put some nasty body fluid on the bed… (GAWDDAMNBUGS) and as I was moving the pillows 8 crickets came out and I screamed bloody murder. LOL
This fight went all weekend. As soon as Monday came around I called the office of the people I rent from and had then come and put some new sealing around certain places in the kitchen. I was suspicious that they were getting in from the old cracks that were once filled to keep mice out. I think it worked too. When I got home from work on Monday I didn’t see any new alive crickets. I cleaned up all the dead crickets and never saw another one all night.
I did wake up to two more nearly dead crickets but that is a huge difference from the 10-20 I was seeing before. I really hope it isn’t some fluke. My sanity can’t take it.
To end this entry off I’m going to do some more webtoon recommendations! (A webtoon is a Korean online comic, the ones I’m bringing up have been translated to English) This is a dangerous addiction for me. I don’t have to go anywhere or even move… as long as my phone is near me. This time I’m going to recommend webtoons from TappyToon only. That app has had a lot of my favorite stories lately. I probably spend the most money on it, so yeah it is not free though there are some free chapters.
Title: The Pale Horse
Genre: Romance, Fantasy
Author: Hye-yeon Chu
Summary: In a French town wracked by fear, Rose Dupre is bullied as a witches’s daughter. Marie and Pierre don’t believe such rumors at first. But when a wave of strange deaths sweeps in, the three children are no longer safe from wary eyes. Can Rose survive the curse of magic and suspicion? An expansive yet color Gothic tale begins.
Review: Oh boy! That summary really doesn’t touch on this story. Of course, it couldn’t because then it would give away the huge shock you get about 10 episodes in. This story is a slow burn… very slow. The artwork is beautiful and the plot is full of twists and turns. I ended up spending way too much money to read what Tappy Toon had. This is a dark story and isn’t some happy-go-lucky romance just to warn you. It sounds like it will be all about Rose, but that is not the case. The story shows the story through many character’s pov to give you an even better grasp of the story line and its plot. This is turning into one of my favorites.
Title: Miss Not-So Sidekick
Genre: Romance, Fantasy
Author: YumYum, Ellianyang
Summary: Hyejung loved to read to escape her daily stress. But that’s before she woke up inside the bizarre world of her favorite novel! Instead of the main heroine who courts three eligible men, she is now Latte Ectrie – a minor villain that everyone hates?! One way or another, it’s a chance to live out her most beloved story line, with popcorn in hand, to watch all the drama! Taking charge of the narrative takes on a whole new meaning! Based on the hit novel.
Review: I thought I had already recommended this one on my blog but I looked back through my posts and didn’t see it. How very odd because this story cracks me up and I look forward to the update every Monday. This is another slow romance story. I get the feeling Latte will end up with one of the main guys but it is already up to chapter 49 on Tappy Toon and so far it has only given little hints. I like that the best though. I feel like any kind of romance in a story is so boring if it happens too fast. Anyway, this is not really just about romance. It is really more of a comedy. Latte cracks me up with how she interacts with the characters, especially with Kenneth, their fights are so funny. Latte decides to befriends Ibelin so she can watch all the interactions between the female lead and the male leads but ends up getting more involved then she thought she would. I’m probably not doing it justice but it is a fun read so you should try it for sure. Also, I’m pretty sure I know which male lead she will end up with in the end.
