New Year’s Resoltion

I never make them because I never kept them. I got to the point where I figured it was a waste of time to even think one up. However, because this last year has been so bad I’m going to be making a BIG one. This one is for my health. I want to change my ways of eating. A diet of sorts, but not one meant for weight loss. One that will make my tummy like me more and not give me as much hell. (hopefully)

As most of my online buddies know, I suffer from many stomach problems. I will not go into detail to save you guys from completely boredom but it’s something that has held me back from doing so many things in my life. I have struggled with it and been on all sorts of medications, seen all sorts of doctors and yet – this year – my health just seemed to deteriorate more.

Adding asthma and eczema to my list of problems does not make me happy – especially since my skin is something I hate the most about my appearance and I use to be a strong singer but now all I do is cough and sputter. The asthma has made it so that I have even less energy than before, the steroids I’m on for the asthma make me constantly hungry. This makes me depressed and even less inclined to want to do anything – cosplay included.

My mother has been researching some things for me to try and has lead me to some kind of powder to put on my food to help with bacteria infections I may have. Not a cure but something to help, almost like a vitamin and not something to take forever. Then I went ahead and bought a book that talks about the different kind of foods and what they can do to your stomach. It also gives you a diet plan that starts off hard but then slowly goes down to a diet plan that will work for every day.

This will hopefully make my bloating and other stomach pain go down significantly – and that will actually help with any weight trouble as well. It even came with an app that can help monitor what I eat and how my symptoms react in the day. (Of course I still have to exercise but if it helps my pain then exercise will be a lot more possible for me again.)

It will not be easy – I’m in no delusions – but I’m hopeful that it will help me because the medication alone is not doing the trick. I want to have more energy to have fun and to do more cosplay before I get even older! LOL

So wish me luck. I plan to put my two cents on all of this as I do it. I will let you guys know if I think it is something that anyone could benefit from, even if it isn’t for stomach problems, it can also be helpful for weight loss.

Now that I have shared what my New Year’s resolution will be , what is yours?

  1. Good luck with your resolution! It definitely sounds like it’s not a easy road, but having that long-term goal in mind and realistic expectations will take you a long way. 🙂 *Hugs*

I don’t really have a new years resolution per se. That is unless you consider maintaining a newly established [as of ~2 years ago] habit as a resolution. 😛 It’s related to fitness. No instant gratification. It’s a slow and gradual process. I’ll appreciate each step I take, for I know I’ll go “Wow, I did that!?” when I look back 6 months from now.

It’s good that you are keeping that up though. I wish I had the drive to do that. I’m really hoping I can stick with my plans. XD

  2. Oh wow. I didn’t realize all the health problems you were having. :/ I wish you the best of luck as you try to work through them and I hope you find something that will help! It’s definitely a good goal to have and you’ve got lots of friends rallying behind you!!

I haven’t thought too much about my goals for the new year yet. I’m sure I’ll have some kind of book goal (my goal was to read 52 books this year – and I did!) and some kind of GPA goal. Other than that, I probably won’t figure it out til my next blog post. ;P

      Thank you very much.
Wow! That is a lot of books. I could never do that since the only time I get to read is right before I go to bed. Good luck with yours!

Good luck with your diet! I hope it really does help out your stomach issues. I know of people who tried a different diet for their health, and it seemed to work for them. I think they had other issues though, not stomach ones. But, it’d be nice if something other than medicines helped out instead 🙂

As for my resolutions, I want to finally clean up our house, and I need to get back into working out.

Yeah, I hope this can help some and if it doesn’t well… let’s just hope it helps my weight gaining issues. LOL
Ah, cleaning. That is always a good goal to have. I haven’t lived in my house long enough to need to do that yet.

  4. I hope this new diet of yours help with your stomach problems. Have you ever had your stomach problems get checked out with your doctors? Maybe they’ve figured it out? I know for some people it’s because they are lactose or gluten intolerant. I only now know that I may be slightly lactose intolerant through self-diagnosis LOL.

Anyway, good luck with it! I hope your health improves in 2014!

Yes, many times. I have seen many doctors over the span of my lifetime and they never know what is wrong with me so they just put me on medications that don’t fix the issue, just tame it.
