I know a lot of people have been saying how much 2016 has sucked and how 2017 is hope for a better year. Well, I don’t exactly agree with that. First of all, I feel like that happens every year (lol). Good things and bad things are going to happen – no matter what year. It just sort of bothers me with all the people saying how much 2016 sucked when – for me – it was actually a pretty decent year.
Here is why…
One full year of not being put in the hospital! That is correct. I made it to the full year mark of no serious hospitalizations. Wahoo! The last two years before 2016 I was put in the hospital 5 times! That sucked! I’m still paying for those years too – with debt. orz
Also, good news – was negative for RA which I mentioned in my last post. The better news to that is the medication they put me on for my joint pain is still working! Wahoo! It wasn’t a fluke.
I could go on and on about why 2016 wasn’t so bad for me but I’m sure you don’t care, heh. The major one was the avoiding the hospital. lol.
In other news, I started my diet and exercise much sooner than I said I was going to. The guys at work somehow convinced me to join a weight loss challenge with them. I figured, wth, why not? I was pretty sure there was no way I could win because guys lose weight differently than girls. Well, they decided to do it by percentage (which gives me a fair chance) and I’m in the lead! The pot has almost reached 400 dollars and I have two more weeks to lose more!
So far, I have lost over 10 pounds. I went from 166lbs to 149lbs, but my goal is to get under 145, stably. What I mean by that is to make sure it isn’t just water weight. I’m very proud of myself. I have been eating better and going to gym almost every single day. I’m almost back up to 45min on the elliptical. Before, that was just a dream when I was hurting and so out of shape. It was rough too, had to start at 20 minutes and slowly go up after a week as well as trying to up my level on the machine.
So the first week it was just 20 minutes at level 4. Now I’m at 40 minutes at level 7. That is progress for me for sure. XD
I don’t let it get me down if I have to take it down a notch or two on some days. I have to watch myself. I know my body best and I still have nerve and muscle issues.
With all the good though, there was some bad. Such as, the weekend for the New Year I was having some bad flank pain and bladder urgency. I thought for sure this meant I had a kidney infection so I made an appointment at the urgent care just to be sure. Well, they didn’t find much bacteria in my urine test but they did find blood. -_-
What that means is, most likely, I have kidney stones. How on earth that happened is beyond me. The doctor said I might have to go to the E.R. Thankfully that didn’t happen but I get the feeling I have more than one because the pain comes and goes. The worst the pain gets though is not being able to stand up for long. I have heard horror stories about the pain so I’m nervous if one of the stones ends up being bigger than I can pass on my own. Scary!
Still, WTF? How? I’m not super over weight, I drink a TON of water (not even kidding), I don’t drink soda (been doing that for over a year now). The only thing I can think of is it is another symptom of all my problems – or it is from a medication I’m on. I guess I will get to discuss this with my primary doctor on Monday though.
Anyway, work and life is keeping me super busy. I hope everything is going well for you guys. Later!
P.S. I have reading Killing Stalking. 0_0 What a roller coaster ride. Talk about a horrible horror story. I have never read one that gave me this many chills and made me feel like I was preparing a lovely seat in hell for reading it. It’s a huge change from my obsession with Yuri on Ice, which is a pure cinnamon roll. BTW, I do not pair the two dudes in Killing Stalking (Sangwoo and Bum) in fact I ship Sangwoo with prison and Bum with psychiatric help. LOL
P.S.S. OMG! I really want to go to anime fest this year, the creators of Yuri on Ice will be there!!!! WAH!
